Hang with the Legends of BBQ this Summer

Fire up the pits and gather all your friends; it’s that time of year again. Windy City Smokeout is coming back to Chicago for its 6th year, this time with a once-in-a-lifetime twist…

The Legends of BBQ—Myron Mixon, Mike Mills, and Wayne Mueller representing the South, Midwest, and Texas respectively—will be leading the charge of an all-access, hands-on experience for the real BBQ lover in the form of an all-day class. The class will run guests through the paces of three different BBQ circuits.

On Saturday, July 14th, from 10am to 7pm,  you can learn the art of Texas BBQ with Mueller’s beef ribs, the secrets behind Mills’ legendary pork ribs, and the ways of hot-and-fast pit cooking with Mixon’s world-famous pork shoulder.

“It reveals many of their best kept secrets and ‘cuing techniques,” explains Chef Doug Psaltis, founder and curator of Windy City Smokeout.

If that’s not exciting enough, the day ends with a sit-down dinner offering a variety of libations and BBQ. This is, of course, all before the big festival headliner concert with Brett Eldridge.

Each Legends ticket includes a three-day general pass to the Smokeout as well as:

  • A “Taste the Park” Saturday food pass, giving ticket holders the chance to taste offerings from the festival’s 20 different pit masters
  • Sit-down BBQ dinner; each ticket includes a +1 for the dinner portion of the experience
  • Beverages and libations throughout the day
  • Escort to the main stage for the evening’s headliner concert (Brett Eldridge)
