The Bears have to trim their roster down to 53 players by Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m CT deadline.

On Sunday, the claiming period ends at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT. After that, the 10-man practice squad can be formed starting at 1 p.m ET/12 p.m. CT.

Cuts list

OL Brandon Greene

First reported by Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs, the Bears waived second-year tackle Brandon Greene. Going undrafted out of Alabama in 2017, he spent much of last season on the team’s practice squad before being on the active roster in Weeks 16 and 17.

WR Demarcus Ayers

Biggs reported that wide receiver Demarcus Ayers has been placed on waivers. A 2016 seventh round pick by Pittsburgh, Ayers will be looking for his fourth team in three seasons. He latched onto the Bears’ practice squad in late November and signed a reserve/future contract in January. He always faced an uphill battle at an improved receiver position.

CB Doran Grant

Reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, the Bears have released Doran Grant. Despite a pick-six in the preseason finale against the Buffalo, the team has let the former 2015 fourth round selection go. Spending much of last season on the Bears’ practice squad, the 25-year-old Grant will be searching for his sixth NFL team.

S Nick Orr

The Bears have waived undrafted rookie Nick Orr from Texas Christian, per Biggs. The 5’10” safety will look for a practice squad spot somewhere.

WR Tanner Gentry

At a deep and athletic position, Tanner Gentry didn’t make the cut. The Bears waived the second year Wyoming product, per Sun-Times writer Adam Jahns. Gentry had three catches for 35 yards in four games as a rookie. He will surely land on a team’s practice sways if not in Chicago once again.

P Ryan Winslow

The undrafted rookie punter from Pittsburgh was competing with veteran Pat O’Donnell. Winslow lost as Biggs reported, he was waived.

TE Colin Thompson

Colin Thompson has been waived despite injuries at the tight ehttps://twitter.com/jennifermroth_/statnd position. Biggs first reported that the second-year Temple product had been let go. He spent much of last season on the Bears’ practice squad.

DL Cavon Walker

An undrafted rookie out of Maryland, Cavon Walker has been waived by the Bears, per Biggs. He is a 6’2” defensive lineman.

LB Josh Woods

A defensive back turned linebacker, Josh Woods was waived by the Bears, per Biggs. A Maryland product, he’s an intriguing versatile prospect that should land somewhere. He was battling a finger injury as of late.

CB Cre’Von LeBlanc

Seen as a surprise, third-year cornerback Cre’Von LeBlanc was waived by the Bears, per Biggs. The slot corner appeared in 28 games with 10 starts, recording 51 tackles, 13 pass breakups and 2 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and one forced fumble in his time with the Bears. The 24-year-old will almost certainly latch on elsewhere.

WR Garrett Johnson

An undrafted rookie from Kentucky, Garrett Johnson has been waived by the Bears, per Biggs. He’s a 5’11” slot receiver.

WR Malachi Jones

The Bears took a shot on Arena League receiver Malachi Jones in late July. Over a month later, the 24-year-old Appalachian State product has been waived by the team, per Biggs.

LB Kasim Edebali

The acquisition of Khalil Mack on Saturday morning certainly made Kasim Edebali expendable. The 29-year-old journeyman showed flashes in the preseason, but then suffered a leg injury in Thursday’s preseason finale. He seemed to be fine however. Regardless, he’s officially been released by the Bears, per Biggs.

LB John Timu

Bouncing between the active roster and practice squad, John Timu has stepped up when asked over the last three seasons (29 games, nine starts). With the selection of Joel Iyiegbuniwe and the roster locks of Danny Trevathan, Roquan Smith and Nick Kwiatkoski, it made it tough for Timu to cement a roster spot. The 26-year-old has been waived by the Bears, per Biggs.

LB Ro’Derrick Hoskins

A 6’3″ undrafted rookie from Florida State, Ro’Derrick Hoskins was waived by the Bears, per Biggs.

LB Jonathan Anderson

Fourth-year linebacker Jonathan Anderson is expected to be placed on IR and then cut with an injury settlement, per Sun-Times writer Patrick Finley. Dealing with a groin issue, Anderson was a long shot to make the roster despite his move to outside linebacker. Anderson appeared in 31 games over the last three seasons including 11 as a rookie with three starts, recording 30 tackles and an interception.

OLB Elijah Norris

Coming from Division II Shepherd, Elijah Norris transitioned to the NFL. The 6’4″ pass rusher was waived by the Bears, per Biggs.

RB Knile Davis

Signed on Aug. 11, the former Chiefs running back was released by the Bears, per Pro Football Weekly’s Eric Edholm. A third round pick in 2013 by Kansas City, Davis has 1,071 total yards (800 rushing, 271 receiving) to his name along with 12 touchdowns (11 rushing, 1 receiving). The 26-year-old will try to be a depth back on another team.

RB Ryan Nall

A fan favorite throughout training camp and the preseason, the Bears waived running back Ryan Nall, per Biggs. The undrafted rookie from Oregon State averaged 7.0 yards per carry, totaling 223 yards and a touchdown in the preseason. Nall had four carries for 79 yards in the finale against Buffalo including a 32-yard touchdown run. He played a little fullback and special teams. You’d have to think he’ll be back on the practice squad if he goes unclaimed.

OL Jordan Morgan

A fifth round pick year ago, guard Jordan Morgan was waived by the Bears, per Finley. The second-year man out of Division II Kutztown will likely resurface somewhere, but it doesn’t seem like the current Bears staff is too high on him.

CB Jonathon Mincy

Formerly a two-year standout in the CFL, cornerback Jonathon Mincy has been waived by the Bears, per Biggs. The 25-year-old could return via the practice squad with his versatility. He had a sack in the preseason finale.

TRADE: Deiondre’ Hall to the Eagles

Suspended for the Week 1 opener, the Bears decided to part ways with 2016 fourth round pick Deiondre’ Hall, per Biggs. He’s headed to Philadelphia (compensation TBD). He appeared in 10 games across two seasons with one interception. Hall battled injuries and switched from cornerback to safety a year ago.

QB Tyler Bray

It was always a longshot for Tyler Bray to make the Bears’ roster after signing a 1-year, $795,000 ($45,000 guaranteed) contract this off-season. He was released, per Biggs. Chase Daniel showed he’s capable of spot starts if Mitch Trubisky gets banged up. Along with quarterbacks coach Dave Ragone, offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich and head coach Matt Nagy, a former quarterback, Trubisky has plenty of help on his side.

WR Bennie Fowler

Struggling with drops and a lack of burst, Bennie Fowler was released by the Bears, per Biggs. He had two catches for 24 yards in the preseason finale and fell out of favor behind younger wideouts.

DT John Jenkins

The Bears opted to keep five defensive linemen with the release of veteran John Jenkins. The 29-year-old appeared in eight games, making one start in Chicago a year ago.

T Dejon Allen

Undrafted out of Hawaii, tackle Dejon Allen was waived.

DL Abdullah Anderson

Undrafted out of Bucknell, defensive tackle Abdullah Anderson was waived.

LS Tanner Carew

Undrafted out of Oregon, Tanner Crew lost out to veteran Patrick Scales and was waived in the process.

DB Rashard Fant

Undrafted out of Indiana, cornerback Rashard Fant was waived.

DB John Franklin

Undrafted out of Florida Atlantic, John Franklin transitioned from quarterback to wide receiver as a senior in college. He was making the move to cornerback but was waived by the Bears.

CB Michael Joseph

A standout at Dubuque, the undrafted rookie was waived by the Bears.

RB Taquan Mizzell

Claimed off waivers last September, Taquan Mizzell spent all last season on the Bears’ practice squad. The second-year man was waived and is now looking for his third team in two seasons in the league.

G Will Pericak

Signed late last season to the Bears’ practice squad, the 28-year-old guard has been released by the Bears.

OL Matt McCants

Originally a sixth-round pick in 2012 by the New York Giants, 29-year-old tackle Matt McCants has been released by the Bears. He was with the team late in 2016 and spent last year in Cleveland.

DL Nicholas Williams

A seventh-round pick by Pittsburgh in 2013, Nicholas Williams had some moments as a pass rusher this preseason, but was released in final cuts. The 28-year-old spent last season out of the league.

WR Marlon Brown to IR (concussion)

More updates to come.
