All 32 NFL teams must trim their rosters down to 75 players by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.
The Bears among many other franchises started to get rid of guys on Sunday.
Let’s look at the Bears’ moves in the order that they came in.
– Fullback Darrel Young, per Tribune’s Rich Campbell (11:28 a.m. CT)
Note: Young ran with the second-team competing with Paul Lasike for the starting job.
– Guard Martin Wallace, per Tribune’s Brad Biggs (11:50 a.m. CT)
Note: Wallace ran with the third-team at left guard.
– Tackle John Kling, per Pro Football Weekly’s Kevin Fishbain (12:49 p.m. CT)
Note: Kling ran with the third-team at right tackle.
—These next seven moves were announced by the Bears team officials (2:28 p.m. CT)
– Defensive lineman Keith Browner
Note: Browner was a journeyman who flashed in the second preseason game, but he never showed consistency.
– Wide receiver Kieren Duncan
Note: Duncan is a blazing fast return man with nice receiving skills. He’ll land on someone’s practice squad.
– Wide receiver Darrin Peterson
Note: Peterson earned a few snaps, but didn’t do much with them.
– Wide receiver Derek Keaton
Note: Keaton spent most of camp injured which hurt his thin chances.
– Running back Senorise Perry
Note: Perry played every game in 2014 as a special teams contributor, was on IR last year. No need for a fifth back.
– Tight end Gannon Sinclair
Note: Sinclair ran with the second-team often in the preseason after spending last year on the Bears’ practice squad.
– Cornerback Joel Ross
Note: Ross was listed on the fourth-team and never stuck amongst the young cornerback room.
– Linebacker Lamin Barrow
– Linebacker Jarrett Grace
– Placed on IR: Center Hroniss Grasu and quarterback Connor Shaw
– Placed on reserve/illness list: Linebacker Roy Robertson-Harris
