Here are your Week 13 Chicago Bears power rankings from various media outlets from around the web.
ESPN.com: 19 (Last week: 23)
Analysis, “The only team to allow more points per game than the Bears (27.6) this season are the Jaguars (27.7). Chicago was third in points allowed only two years ago.”
NFL.com: 20 (Last week: 23)
Analysis, “Nice comeback win, and suddenly … Well, let’s not get too carried away, but Chicago’s playoff hopes do have a pulse. First, they must win in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. Then, if Philly falls in Dallas and Seattle loses at San Francisco that evening, the Bears will only be two games back of the Eagles and one back of the Seahawks. Bear in mind, Chicago owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over San Francisco. OK, so if I haven’t lost you yet, the Bears just really need to win Thursday. Glad we got that straight.”
Yahoo Sports: 21 (Last week: 22)
Analysis, “Totaling 204 yards and 12 first downs at home against one of the worst defenses in football. I’m convinced Marc Trestman’s play card this year is just “MATT FORTE CHECKDOWN” in 300-point type and that’s it.”
FOX Sports: 20 (Last week: 23)
Analysis, “Led by several veterans on the back end of their careers, the defensive line has made the Bears more formidable in recent weeks. The offensive line has regressed big time in pass protection this season, but some of the blame on offense belongs to Jay Cutler.”
CBS Sports: 19 (Last week: 21)
Analysis, “At 5-6, they face a huge game at Detroit on a short week on Thanksgiving. Their playoffs hopes might be decided in that one.”
Best ranking: ESPN & CBS Sports (19)
Worst ranking: Yahoo Sports (21)
Quote of The Day
Jay Cutler on the Detroit Lions defense (via his Tuesday afternoon press conference).
“They do a great job of collapsing the pocket and knocking the guards into your lap.”
