Week 10 NFL Power Rankings, Chicago Bears Edition

Here are the Week 10 power rankings from various sites around the web:

ESPN: #9 (Last week: #14)

Analysis, “Why did Chicago win the battle of the backups? Matt Forte ran for nine first downs, including five on the Bears’ 18-play, 80-yard final drive. Will Jay Cutler join him Sunday?”

NFL.com: #11 (Last week: #14)

Analysis, “Maybe, just maybe, people will start to value the quality of their backup quarterbacks. The position never seems to be a salary-cap consideration, or enough of one anyway. Tell me five backup quarterbacks you’d rather have than Josh McCown at this point.”

FOX Sports: #12 (Last week: #13)

Analysis, “The Bears now join the Lions and Packers in a three-way tie atop the NFC North at 5-3.”

CBS Sports: #12 (Last week: #15)

Analysis, “The Bears get a big win over the Packers and backup QB Josh McCownwas fantastic. Jay Cutler is due back this week and this team is on the move up the board.”

Yahoo Sports: #12 (Last week: #14)

Analysis, “The defense is truly bad, but Marc Trestman is doing a nice job. Going for it on fourth and inches from his own 33 on Monday night was bold, and it was a turning point in the win.”

Pro Football Talk: #13 (Last week: #15)

Analysis, “Josh McCown/Luke McCown/Cade McNown > Seneca Wallace.”

Best ranking: #9 – ESPN

Worst ranking: #13 – Pro Football Talk

Quote Of The Day

Bears head coach Marc Trestman on the bold call to go for it on fourth-and-inches from his team’s own 33-yard line with roughly nine minutes left in the game.

“I can’t say that there was great analytical reasoning involved,” Trestman said to the media following the Bears’ 27-20 win. “It was a sense that we needed to stay on the field and I felt that we could and that is what we did. I knew that one way or the other I wouldn’t look back and regret the decision that was made.”
