“Security Check: TSA’s 3-1-1 Rule, Broken”
When my friend Tiffany visited in June (2010) with her two young children, we were looking for ways to entertain the kids. Since Atia was feeling remarkably well that month and her immune system was somewhat strong, I felt encouraged to check out some of Chicago’s best kid places.
It was a far cry from the way Tiffany and I used to spend our time together. We’ve been friends for over ten years – before marriage, before babies, before her move to Texas…
First on the docket was a visit to the Chicago Children’s Museum. It was wonderfully interactive and the kids really got to use their imaginations; they were musicians, chefs, firefighters, bus drivers and grocery store workers.
There was no down time… they ran from one activity to the next – lots of giggles, smiles and fun. By the end, they were pooped, which is every parent’s litmus test, right? Definitely a great place to go.
The next day we went to Pump It Up, a bouncy house place for kids. We knew this place was going to be a riot. A couple weeks before, Atia and Asher had a play date there with Amelia, Ana’s daughter and Harper and Ellis, my friend Hillary’s daughters.
During that visit, I was able to capture some cute video – you’ll see Harper, with the beautiful blonde curly hair, Amelia, the adorable brunette and Ana who is wearing Pink.
It was no surprise that Ava and Ryan enjoyed themselves as much as Atia and Asher. The kids explored everything Pump It Up had to offer, and Tiffany and I had a chance to catch up a little bit. I love that the place is so loud that no one really cares if your kids scream at the top of their lungs. Again, Atia was worn out by the end and for that alone I give Pump It Up two thumbs up.
Notice the theme? I love places that provide endless entertainment, at an affordable price, and with the end result of sleepy kids wanting to go back soon.
