More Free Days At Chicago Museums

Ken and I try to take the boys to Chicago‘s fantastic museums at least once a year.  Cooper and Cole seem to have a good time when they are there, but I never really thought these adventures had a real impact on them.

Then one day for ‘show & tell’ at school, Cooper wanted to bring in his spinning top that he made at the Museum of Science and Industry.  He did not play with the top much at home, but that day, it was important to him to show it to his friends.

Well it turned out that many of the kids in his class thought the spinning top was cool too, and Cooper told great stories about his adventures at the museum.  We heard that many of the kids in his class asked their parents to take them to the Museum of Science and Industry just like Cooper.

A few of his friends did wind up going to the museum based on Cooper’s adventures.  So it turns out that we are creating memories for the boys as we check out all of the great museums in Chicago.

I know that we all can’t wait for Summer (or at least Spring) to start in Chicago.  But just in case we have some rainy (or cold) days ahead, here is an update on some free admission days available at our Chicago museums.

  • Thanks for these dates. It gets harder to drag teenagers out to the museums, but I'm going to give it a shot. Pretty much every year for my birthday, we go to a museum and it's the one day they cannot complain. :)

  • Thank you for the comment. Even if your kids complain, it's no loss since it is a free day.

  • Thanks! Always a great reminder!
