"The Qualifiers" Celebrity Draft Party

Last Week’s Blog > Exclusive Premier Event: The Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup

My family spent this weekend at the two-day fundraising event called, The Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup. It was an absolutely amazing experience full of many firsts for us – the first time walking the red carpet, the first time being asked “Who are you wearing?”, the first time seeing a different celebrity at every turn, and most importantly, the first time being involved with such an amazing cause.

I took a million pictures because, I mean, come on… it’s not like I do this every day! I wanted to capture and remember it all. So, for the next several weeks, I’ll be giving you an exclusive peak into this spectacular event. And let me tell you, it was pretty AMAZING!

It all kicked off with “The Qualifiers” Celebrity Draft Party where the drivers (folks that raised money) got to select their Celebrity Navigator. The draft order was determined by the driver who raised the most money.

The invitation read:

Event:                      “The Qualifiers” Celebrity Draft Party

:00pm – 10:00pm

Dress:                       Club Chic

Location:               Park West – 322 West Armitage Ave.

The Rally will kick off with “The Qualifiers” Celebrity Draft Party. This cocktail reception and fabulous dinner prepared by 10 of Chicago’s best restaurants provides Rally Drivers with the opportunity to meet and recruit their desired Celebrity Navigator. The premium drafting positions will be determined by the amount of dollars raised through pledges and sponsorship. The Rally Driver who raises the most money will be first to select their Celebrity Navigator.

My dress is by Chicago designer, Jlee Silver.

Truly, a once in a lifetime experience. It was a dream come true to walk on the red carpet and "act" like I actually belonged at an event like that. :-)

I am so excited for you all! What a night! I would have had my camera out too- don't worry!

  • In reply to kmccarron:

Seriously, I wasn't shy - I was going up to everyone asking, "Can I have a picture with you?" Wait until next week to see who else I got a picture with - a hint, I completed my goal!
