The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) is just a memory now, and I had a blast! The convention floor was impressive. There were plenty of vendors, artist, and celebrity guests.
From a cosplayers perspective, two things I loved right away were the changing rooms, and the wider aisle on the convention floor. Last year, walking around the convention was tough, but this year, wider aisles gave con-goers more elbow room (which is great for those of us with large costumes).
C2E2 had something for everyone. Some of the activities going on during the weekend included Q&A Panels, Screenings, Quidditch matches, Sci-Fi Speed Dating, Humans vs. Zombies live-action role-playing games, and daily costume contests.
My favorite part of the convention, of course, is all the costumes! Seeing costumers of all ages strut their stuff is what keeps me coming back to conventions like this. Meeting some of your favorite artists and celebrities are cool, but C2E2 is truly a social event, and it gives fellow geeks a chance to hangout, and make some new friends who share your same nerdy interests.
C2E2 is one huge fabulous costume party! Even though this convention is still fairly new (this is the third year for C2E2), it’s becoming one of the more popular comic/entertainment conventions in the Midwest. I met some people who traveled from across the country just to come to Chicago for this event.
Once again, I worked with Rich Johannsen from Lesson 5 Photography to bring you all some of the amazing costumes from C2E2 2012. Be sure to check out the Lesson 5 Photo Blog, and like the Lesson 5 Facebook Fanpage!
