This was not as suspenseful of a game as the last Wild Card game between the A's and Royals, but for me, a Bay Area native, it was just as fun.  The Giants won behind the incredible pitching performance of one Madison Bumgarner and will advance to face the Washington Nationals in the National League Division Series starting Friday.  Thursday night, the Royals will go to Anaheim to face the Angels in the ALDS.  We're getting farther away from having a baseball game every night, but the games that are still going on?  Still great.

Baseball is more fun with Twitter as well.  Early on in the game:

At one point I set up my Ricestradamus routine:

That, of course, was when the not-so-ideal elimination game starter, Edinson Volquez, gave up the first-ever grand slam to a shortstop in postseason play (yes, the Wild Card round counts) in the form of Brandon Crawford. If you don't believe me, believe this guy.

Naturally, the Pirates fans were not happy at all:

As Cubs fans, we probably know how that feels. And then some.  But we have to get there first to feel, and I think that day is coming soon.
