For those who don't know me all too well, I'm an animal nerd. I know everything there is about certain species, and I'm going to college to further my knowledge on the subject. But sometimes I'm at wits end when it comes to my own animals.
Meet Neo the most eccentric chock-full of personality cat I have ever met. Not exaggerating. I worked several years at animal shelters socializing cats, and never have I come across a cat like Neo. It was astounding that I even got Neo, let alone that I get to keep him. Our journey together will be anything but normal, and everyday I hope he isn't driving my sister Crystal too crazy. If I could sum it up simply, Neo is my cat from hell. Don't get me wrong, I love the little bugger, and he is actually also one of the sweetest cats I have ever met. I am a big animal welfare person, and I fully agree with keeping animals out of shelters, and keep them in their current homes. So that will never be an option. Right now I'm away at school, while my brave sister has to deal with his antics. Who else has a crazy cat? I just want to make his life as happy and as comfortable as possible, as well as staying sane. What can I do to solve his anger issues? If anyone has a possible solution for me and my boy, please let me know. Because when I come home I am going to try my best to make him happy, and to make my sisters life better too.
But this isn't just about Neo. Being away at college and studying what I want to study has opened my eyes up what I really want to do in life. I want to help all those owners out there that are at wits end with any animal they have, I want to be there to help. Sometimes people, animals, and changes come to us for a reason. I fully believe that without my experiences and trials with not only Neo but other parts in my life-- has shown me my true calling.
I believe we all have a true calling! Focus on yours, love it and live it. Love all those around you, because you don't know when they'll be gone. I am a true animal nerd and I cannot wait to help Neo find his inner peace, and I cannot wait for Neo to help me find mine.
These next few months should be focused on your loved ones, furry or not!
