In the current economy jobs are scarce! And a decent one is even more scarce! By decent I mean you can work a 40 hour work week and afford the basic necessities (a place to live, a way to get to and from, be able to see inside at night (no need to turn on the lights if your electricity has been cut off), not freeze to death in the winter (the gas is still on) or catch on fire in the summer (you have air conditioning) and enough food to keep you from looking like one of those Ethiopian kids in all those “Please send us money” commercials)!

Because a “decent” gig is hard to come by, those of us who are fortunate enough to have a job, are extremely grateful for it.  However, the conditions under which some of us are forced to work, make giving up all those things seem unrealistically attractive at times. There is some CRAZY stuff going on in the world out there!

If you go to work every day thinking how lucky you are, but also praying that you don’t hurt anyone when you get there, I’m talking to you!

This blog is dedicated to all the working folks who need a little support, a laugh or two to break up the monotony and some helpful tips on how to survive in today's work force, finding other jobs, and how to get along in the office. Every week (more or less), I’ll share some of my work experiences, advice, and some lessons learned, along with other crazy stories I happen to come across.

Hopefully you’ll allow me to share some of your stories too! Send them to me! My hope is that you’ll find something, helpful, funny or thought provoking as you read these articles.

Look for my articles every Monday morning at 9AM, right here on ChicagoNow.com

In the meantime, have a great day at work, or at the very least, don’t do anything that will get you fired and/or arrested
