Cantigny Lego Train Show: Don’t let the name fool you, this show is much more than trains! Stop by and see intricate Lego creations that will amaze even non-Lego fans. This year a Lego model of the USS Missouri is also on display in the First Division Museum. Entrance to the event is free with parking at Cantigny, which runs $5 a car. If you bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots, they will waive the parking fee. Show runs this Saturday & Sunday only from 9 am- 4pm. For more details: http://www.cantigny.org/calendar

Bass Pro Shops Winter Wonderland: Head out to the Bass Pro Shop to get a free photo with Santa and to enjoy their annual Winter Wonderland. There is a foam toy arcade, train sets, a laser arcade and free crafts for the kids to enjoy. An extra nice feature is you can sign up for a Santa pass, where you get assigned a time to see Santa and can skip standing in the line that gets fairly long. Adventure to Santa 2015, Oakbrook Center: This one is a bit pricey, but your family can join Shrek and friends on an adventure to meet Santa. For $40 a party of up to 5 people get an elf guided visit to Santa’s house, a visit with Santa, a small pack of printed photos and a keepsake boarding pass. Compared to the free visit with Santa at Bass Pro Shop, this is pretty pricey, but Bass Pro Shop does not have to pay licensing fees for Shrek either.
