Chicago Halloween 2015 Fall Fun Events & Activities This Weekend

Looking for something fun this weekend that doesn’t take place at a Pumpkin Farm? Get your Chicago Halloween 2014 fall Phineas Pumpkinfun at these 5 events and festivals held by local communities.

 

Haunted Forest at Oakbrook Park District

From Thursday October 9th- Saturday the 11th Oakbrook park district is hosting their haunted forest event. While some activities are free, the haunted maze costs $5. Scarecrow Fest, St. Charles

From October 10th-12th, St. Charles is holding their Scarecrow Fest, an all-ages fun filled festival. While admission and parking is free, there is a separate cost for the carnival onsite. Activities available include a petting zoo, donut eating contest, art and craft show, a costume party and live entertainment. Fall Bulb Festival, Chicago Botanical Garden

The Chicago Botanical Garden is hosting an all-ages fall bulb festival from October 10th-12th. Activities include a maze, live music, gourd tower, seasonal marketplace, bulb sale, kid’s obstacle course and other family activities. Harvest Fest, Glencoe

On October 11th, Glencoe will be holding Harvest Fest in Henry J. Kalk Park. From 2-4pm they are having Great Pumpkin Day and activities include a petting zoo, games, live entertainment, mini golf, bounce house, photo booth and more. From 3-10pm the more adult-orientated A Taste of Glencoe begins with live music, food samples and alcohol sales. For more information: Glencoe Harvest Fest

 

Locktober Fest, Rockford

Lockwood Park in Rockford is home to the annual Locktober Fest every weekend in October. The 11th & 12th are Pumpkin Patch Days where you can pick pumpkins for just $5. Other activities include carnival rides, corn maze, hayride, pony rides, pumpkin themed games and activities, live entertainment and food. Admission is free but there is a charge for some activities.
