Mother’s Day is May 12, 2013, and there is still time to plan a wonderful nature-filled afternoon with mom. Both Chicago and the Chicago suburbs have numerous events that focus on spending time outdoors with the special mom in your life.

 

River Forest: Woodland Walk on Mother’s Day

From 1:00-2:00 pm the Trailside Museum of Natural History in River Forest is hosting an outdoor woodland walk. This family themed stroll will meander through springtime woodlands giving you the change to enjoy some fresh air and beautiful surroundings with mom. Northbrook: Mother Nature’s Day

Naperville: Horse Drawn Hayrides

Danada in Naperville will be hosting horse drawn hayrides from noon to 3:00 PM. Enjoy the beautiful Danada grounds and then take mom on a scenic hayride. $5 per person age 13 and up, $2 for kids 5-12 and kids under 5 are free. Wheaton: Brunch at Cantigny Gardens
