Chicago Public Schools students create plays from news stories

This week, I’m sharing the story of a group of Chicago Public Schools high-school students who wrote their own plays inspired by news and current events. The students attend Hancock College Prep, the newest and only Selective Enrollment high school on Chicago’s Southwest side. And that’s where I teach.

As part of their drama class, students wrote six 10-minute plays. They perform the plays this Thursday and Friday in Hancock’s auditorium.  Listen to the 8-minute audio piece below.
