The day before Labor Day: The first day of the rest of your life

It's Sunday, the day before Labor Day. So, who could possibly be posting something about success today? Well, me.

That's because Sunday's are often the best time to sit back, take a breath, and ask if the direction you're headed is the one you intended. If so, cool. Keep going. If not, well you know what to do.

Now, of course, changing course will not be easy. In fact, it will likely be one of the hardest things you've ever done. But to paraphrase Cher's commercial from the 1980's, if becoming who and what you wanted to be came in a bottle, then everyone would do it.

Nope, this is a journey for the brave and true. It will test every part and parcel of you to the breaking point, almost beyond measure. But I know a secret. Namely, that you've got this. I see it in your eyes. There ain't no quit in 'em.

So, if you're going to make a change, take today to plan out just the next, small thing you need to do to get started. Then use Labor Day the way it was meant to be used. To chill.

Because, after that, on Tuesday, when you make that next, small thing happen, it starts to get good.

Real good.
