Still looking for something to do this weekend

Weekend Logo

Summer is in full swing, street festivals have become a major part of our weekends and catching up with friends at Hollywood Beach is even more fun than it was last year. There's plenty going on this weekend, so get out there and have some fun!  Remember to come back every Thursday morning so you have plenty of time to plan your weekend!

It's Gay Day at Six Flags sponsored by Gay Chicago Magazine. You can get tickets from GCM for $40 per person (and $5 of that benefits BEHIV) and grab a bus at Touche at 10AM for $15.  Also, Six Flags is offering a buy one/get one free offer on their website.  There's no mention on any of the sites, but typically red t-shirts are used to "identify family members," I'll be wearing mine and I'll see you there.

We spend plenty of time in the bars drinking, but do you ever wonder where that wonderful elixir actually comes from?  Chicago's first boutique distillery, Koval, located in Andersonville opens their doors several times this summer to give you a chance to check out the magic.  Koval makes Whiskey, Vodka distilled from Rye, brandy and more.  Check out today's tour at 2PM or others scheduled throughout the summer for only $10 per person.

Since April Windy City Gay Idol has been trying to find the best singer in the city.  Head to Sidetrack starting at 1PM to catch the finale of Windy City Gay Idols.  Who will be the best, be there and find out!

Don't forget that today is Father's Day!

Looking to keep things healthy?  Then why not head to any of the Fresh Farmer's Markets that are spread out across the city.  Today  you can catch markets in Beverly, Wicker Park, Pilsen, Logan Square and more.  Check the What's A Boy To Do calendar for an even bigger listing of fresh markets all week long.

If you're a great dancer, or a bad dancer like me, then it's time to head to Millennium Park for the Chicago Summer Dance program.  This summer from Thursdays through Sundays you'll have the chance to learn a new dance every night with an hour of lessons and then put those dances to practice with live music for two more hours.  All events are free, check the site for a full listing of dance events.

FACEBOOK FIND: Tonight the Drake Hotel and The Chicago Cabaret Project presents "Rythm of the Night", a One Night Only Performance. Tix are $15 for a night of cabaret at the Palm Court.  The fun starts at 6PM.  Check Facebook for all the details.
