Do you know what your rights are as an LGBT Activist? Oh you're not an activist? Why not?
You may not think that you're an activist, but if you're gay - you're automatically an activist. You almost always have to fight for your rights as a member of the LGBT community. Many before us have fought so that we may have the right to live where we want, work where we want and to love who we want. We are still miles and miles away from full equality, so therefore you're an activist.
One of the most recent acts of civil-disobedience was when Dan Choi handcuffed himself to the White House fence. What do you stand for? Equality Across America is offering a a presentation on non-violent civil disobedience by Michael Letwin, former president of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys via conference call this weekend. You'll have an opportunity to hear what some communities across the country are doing to move LGBT rights forward and you'll have the chance to ask questions as well.
