The biggest night in movies, The 82nd Academy Awards, is coming up on March 7th and the question that needs to be asked is - Where will you watch them?
All of the worlds eyes will be on the Red Carpet as the stars enter the Kodak Theater in LA to find out who the big winners will be. Even if you can't make it to California for the awards presentation there are plenty of events going on in Chicago to make you feel like a star and enjoy the night in style.
The Drake Hotel is hosting an Oscar Party in the Palm Court. Enjoy the Oscars in the oppulance and grandeur of the Drake Hotel as you watch the show in hi-def. Tickets are $20 and includes a glass of champagne to toast in the stars.
If you're looking for something with a "black tie" feel head over to the Gene Siskel Film Center for Chicago's only "official" Oscar Party chaired by Chaz and Roger Ebert. Tickets are $100 per person and include complimentary beverage, food and a live simulcast of the program on two screens. Tickets can be purchased online.
To really step it up a notch though, get to the Fairmont Hotel for On The Red Carpet: Center on Halsted's Oscar party. General Admission tickets are $75 with open seating, VIP tickets with reserved seats and cocktail service are $100. Enjoy a Red Carpet Reception at 6PM followed by the Awards program with cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres. If you'd like to make a night of it, the Center has also arranged special discounts for rooms at the hotel. Check the site for full details.
