Graphic Sexual Horror to screen at Leather Archives

Sex+++ Film Series will screen 'Graphic Sexual Horror' documentary and discussion featuring film director Barbara Bell at the Leather Archives & Museum on Friday, February 12th.

'"Graphic Sexual Horror" takes a peek behind the facade of, a notorious bondage website, exploring the mind of its artistic creator and asking hard questions about personal responsibility.  Original Insex footage, behind-the-scenes interactions, and interviews with website creator PD, models, members, and staff reveal deep fascinations with bondage and sadomasochism that run parallel, and in fact become irreversibly entwined with the lure of money.

InSex was shut down by federal prosecutors, but its story asks questions that are still relevant.  Can paying a BDSM partner distort his or her consent?  Why were prosecutors so easily able to force a legal business to fold?  Come out, watch the documentary, and talk about it afterwards!  Director Barbara Bell will be present for the discussion, which will be moderated by pro-BDSM activist Clarisse Thorn.'

I've had a chance to view several movies and plays at the Leather Archives and I always have a great time.  It's amazing to sit in the theater and be surrounded by Etienne images that adorned the walls of gay bars that were in existence long before many of us were born.  The audiences are usually lively and the Q&A after the movie lets you get your questions answered.

This is a benefit for the archive and the screening starts at 7:30 Tix are available at the door on a sliding scale from $5-10 and there will be light refreshments available.

Get there early and take a tour of the musuem - you'll be surprised at what you learn!
