When was the last time you were at a good old fashioned Church Supper? If you're like me, it's been a while.
One of the great things about "growing up in the country" was going to the Church Suppers where the women of the congregation would spend hours in the church kitchen toiling over donated stoves and ovens to churn out some of the best darn cooking you ever ate, and now Bertha Mason is doing just that - for you!
Bertha Mason, the hausfrau from the Midwest, will host "Loaves and the Dishes" Church Supper at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Addison this coming Friday evening. Not only will there be meatloaf, tuna noodle casserole, 3-bean salad, pies, cakes but there'll be a whole lot of audience participant.
Bertha will offer cooking demonstrations, there'll be some glittery Jesus crafts and you can even do the polka as Queer As Polka performs. Cindy Sunday from Best*Church of God will also be on hand to titillate you with her lovely voice.
Get ready to enjoy some delectable food as the kitchen staff is made up of people who have graduated
fromKendall College , worked at the Four Seasons
Chicago, Fox and Obel, and Hoosier Mama Pie Co.
