Ticketmaster sucks

Tickets for Lady Gaga's January concert went on "internet pre-sale" today but because of the wonderful Ticketmaster - I couldn't get tickets.

Have you had similar experiences with Ticketmaster?

  • TicketBastard has no intention of selling you tickets to popular events at face value. Due to "site problems" or availability or whatever other excuse they come up with you will see no tickets whatsoever when you get on the site. But magically, when you go to their reseller site ticketsnow.com you will see tons of tickets to the "sold out" event at 3x their face value (plus the usual fees adding up to 40% of the ticket price). This criminal enterprise has already shown they are exempt from anti-trust laws. The only solution is to not go to any event where tickets cannot be bought outside of the TicketBastard system. They will keep raping the fans as long as fans keep opening their wallets.

  • Ticketmaster basically steals from people. My dad actually wrote a book to share his stories of how he's snuck in to numerous concerts, and sporting events. "In With The Band: The Adventures Of A Gatecrasher." It speaks about his refusal to pay "scalper" prices, and Ticketmaster is exactly that, but on a corporate level. It may as well be considered a brokerage! Anyways loved this video and if anyone's interested in the book let me know. It's all about Chicago sports and sporting events he's "gatecrashed" in Chicago. You can email mrchicago47@att.net.

Thanks for getting this video out there to try and get the word out. -Mr. Chicago

  • I would like to attend the concert on Friday, Jan. 8, which doesn't seem like a big deal, but my friend and I are flying from Omaha for the show. We have flights, but no concert tickets. What do you suggest? Do people sell tickets outside the door the day of the concert? Should we do that?

  • In reply to emilyanne:

Hi Emily, you can always find people scalping tickets in front of the theater...but you get what you pay for and most times you overpay for what you get....just be ready to shell out some big bucks!
