Well, I wouldn't really say "vacation" as I'm going to the Blog World Expo in Las Vegas
I'm going with the guys from Feast of Fun and from what I've just recently heard I may run into a few ChicagoNow bigwigs while I'm there.
I'll be back next week! Have a great time while I'm gone, make yourself at home, and please feel free to unload the dishwasher.

I love the airport
I'm currently sitting in a comfy chair at a Southwest gate in Midway airport and I'm having a ball!
The airport is the best place in the world. Not only do you get to choose from a myriad of unique and never found cuisines outside of the airport, but you get to people watch - oh so many people to watch.
I love to just sit and watch people, I think I get it from my parents who got it from their parents who got it from their parents who were forced to sit and watch the same people for days at a time when they were arriving by ship in the middle part of the 19th century.
The airport has every size, shape, color and gender of people you could imagine, there's boys, girls and even people from foreign countries like Canada and Mexico! AMAZING! There are tall people, short people, people that should still use Geranimals to get dressed in the morning and people who should not be parents based on how they ignore their children and let them scream and run circles around the check-in kiosk - yeah Mom give that kid another soda pop.
Besides watching people there's so much you can do at the airport. You can find a t-shirt that says "My Mom went to Chicago and all she brought me back was this lousy t-shirt" Or you can get the biggest bag of Garrett's popcorn and say with a straight face "Oh, my family is going to love this," all while knowing that you're going to eat all of it before the plane touches down at your destination. You get to sit and listen to the endless repeating announcements of how we're at a security level of ORANGE. Haven't we been at Orange for like 8 years now? They need to just get rid of that one and tell us when it goes back down to normal - we are WELL aware that we're at Orange.
Especially when we need to practically get naked at the TSA, shoes off, coat off, laptop out, belt off - thank goodness I'm not wearing baggy pants and remembered to put on clean underwear this morning. Everything in the carryon, nothing in your pockets, hurry up and wait!
Besides shopping and watching people you can also get exercise at the airport....my favorite activity is powerwalking on the moving sidewalks. They should install these in every gym because then I might actually go. The moving sidewalks are fabulous because you actually get two times the scenery for only half the amount of walking. As you pass from gate to gate you have the chance to see who's eating the whole bag of Garrett's popcorn, who forgot to buy souveniors while in the city and the people who either have complete fashion sense or none at all.
So what's your favorite activity when you're at the airport?
