I just got a tip that two letters written by Queer Activist Harvey Milk will go on the auction block in July.

I found out that Leslie Hindman Auctionneers has obtained two letters penned by the famed Queer Activist in the 50's.  A time when he was enlisted in the Navy as a diving officer and worlds before he became a Gay Rights Activist in the 70's.  The letters were written to his friend Patrick Morman, whom he met while he was serving in the Navy.

The first of the two letters was written as Milk was about to enjoy a 10 day furlough and travel to Dallas, TX to meet a  man who he hoped he would be married to by the end of the year if all went as planned.

The second letter is much more brief and contains only two sentences, "Don't say or do anything.  I'ver been turned in by Johnny Teynel and Marty 'Kid" (illegible) and a third party - Harvey"

It has been estimated that the autographed letters will bring between $2,000-$4,000 at during the "Fine Books and Manuscriptions" auction that will be held on July 28th.

The letters will be on display at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers on July 26th and July 27th.
