Looks like No Civil Unions for Illinois until November

It doesn't look as though SB1716 and HB2234 and going to make it to the floor for this legislative session, which means it's probably going to get pushed to November.

According to State Representative Greg Harris' Facebook page, the session that just started back up at 9:45PM after a brief recess has already voted on some debt refinancing but have yet to bring up Civil Unions.

Based on an "announcement of votes" it does not appear as though SB1716 nor HB2234 were included in the list, meaning we still have a lot of work to do.

Harris suggests that he has 'learned to keep your eyes open and watch for opportunities as they present themselves, keep counting your votes and keep your eye out for waffling'
