It's funny how something that us Midwesterners tend to complain about, the weather, can actually become a time capsule of memories. The white blanket of snow that covers the ground outside transports me back in time to when I was a kid. Growing up there were lots of days spent building snow forts, making snow angels, hitting the highest hill in town with our toboggan, and of course a friendly snow ball fight.
Whenever we came inside, Ma always made us rich and creamy hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and a candy cane stirrer. It make my heart and soul so happy to roll all those memories into these oh-so-adorable and crazy decadent truffles.
Not to mention they only require four ingredients and come together in no time.
-one package Oreos
-one package cream cheese
-vanilla almond bark
-crushed candy candy
1. Pulse cookies to crumbles
2. Combine crumbles with softened cream cheese
3. Roll into balls and freeze until firm
4. Dip in melted almond bark
5. Garnish with peppermint sprinkles(I did some with and some without)
What memories does the snow bring back in you?
