Valentines Day: Last Minute Edition

Raise your hand if you have yet to get a little something for your mom, grandma, or main squeeze for Valentine's Day.  If you are anything like me you are scrambling around at the last minute because, well, that's what we do.  Here are my top three ways to make it special, not break the bank, and edible.  Don't we all love to eat?

1. Cookies

Butterscotch Chocolate Chip at that.  Nothing says 'I Love You' more than chocolate but a regular box of chocolates is oh so boring.  Surprise your sweetie with a homemade treat.  If your not feeling butterscotch, replace it with a few handfuls of Valentines colored M&Ms.

Do you have multiple Valentines?  Divvy them into to clear baggies and tie pink ribbon around the top for a festive look.

2.  Rootbeer Float Kit

Let's be real, Pinterest is a life saver.  Who doesn't go crazy for a good old fashioned root beer float?  I about died when I saw this and I knew I had to make it for my husband, the root beer float junkie.  Plus this is freaking adorable.  For the health conscious Valentines out there, replace ice-cream with low fat Cool Whip.    Goose Island root beer is our beer of choice!

3.  Soup

Ok, it's not the usual gift but you can use whatever veggies and ground meat you have on hand.  Plus, we all know a way to anyone's heart is thru the stomach.  Not just a man's.  Regardless of who your someone special is, I'm convinced offering them something that you took time to prepare is one of the kindest gestures out there.   My current favorite use what you have soup is onion, carrots(I do shreds with a potato peeler), ground turkey, 7 Super Salad mix, spinach and a hefty sprinkle of parmesan.

Do you celebrate Valentines Day?  If so, are you a DIYer or a buyer?  DIY all the way!
