What's not to love about Eataly? I've enjoyed every trip to this eating emporium dedicated to all things Italian. But I've never taken my kids with me. I've worried that the non-stop hustle and bustle at Eataly might be overwhelming for them.
I recently learned about a great way to introduce kids to this local resource -- a Kid's Kitchen Workshop hosted by Barilla. On Saturday, October 25, 2014 from noon-2:00 p.m., kids ages eight through twelve are invited to “Share The Table” at Eataly Chicago at a fun, hands-on cooking class. Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about five ways to make mealtime more meaningful
- Prepare three pasta dishes step-by-step with Barilla instructors
- Enjoy pasta dishes prepared by the Barilla team
- Take home recipes and instructions to recreate the dishes at home
- Receive a gift from Barilla
The cost is $50 per child. For each participant in the class, Barilla will make a contribution to Common Threads, an organization started by Chef Art Smith and Jesus Salgueiro which teaches children living in underserved communities how to cook wholesome, healthy meals in professional led, curriculum-based after-school programs.
You can learn more about the event and purchase your tickets here. And you better believe that I will be doing some serious shopping while my kids are cooking! Mozzarella bar, here I come!
