New book introduces kids to the spirit of Notre Dame

New book introduces kids to the spirit of Notre Dame

Notre Dame is full of happy memories for me. While attending law school at Notre Dame, I met my husband. We had a fun couple of years hanging out in South Bend in between classes and exams.

When fellow ChicagoNow blogger Julia Passamani reached out to me to tell me about her kids' picture booked called The Notre Dame Spirit, I was eager to check it out.

Three Notre Dame alumni, Kristin Lenhart (class of 2000),  Julia Passamani (class of 2000), and illustrator Katie Mountford (class of 2006) joined forces to create this book. The story captures the spirit of Notre Dame through the eyes of a determined boy searching for its meaning on a football Saturday.  Fans of Notre Dame's beautiful campus and Catholic mission will enjoy sharing this part of Americana with their little ones (and who knows, maybe you've got a future Domer running around your house). For alumnae, this book is a great way to connect with your kids about your time on campus or give them some context for a visit to South Bend.

Passamani notes, "It is more important than ever as a community to believe in something bigger than ourselves as we face economic hardship and other harsh realities.   That something is the spirit of Notre Dame."

Visit  www.notredamespirit.com for more information and to purchase the book. It is also available online at Corby Books (www.corbypublishing.com), and for sale on campus in South Bend at the Notre Dame Book Store.
