Museum of Science and Industry offers Illinois residents free admission weekdays in January

I wanted to share some info that you might find helpful (assuming that we are able to dig out from the snow drifts and sub zero temps later this week of course). Starting January 6, 2014, general admission to the Museum of Science and Industry is free for all Illinois residents on weekdays.

Run in a human-sized hamster wheel. See lightning strike—indoors! Manipulate a tornado. Climb inside a historic locomotive. Dissect a real eyeball. Witness fiery chemistry at work. Become an inventor at the Fab Lab. Learn to dive and surface a submarine. GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DAYS! FOR FREE! WOO-HOO! Now this is something to look forward to.

Note that you must be an Illinois resident, with proof of address, to receive free general admission. Also, Omnimax® films, U-505 Submarine on-board tour, Future Energy Chicago, Coal Mine, Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives and special tours are not included in Museum Entry. They will require additional, timed-entry tickets.
