Chicago is a beautiful, world-class city. However, like all big cities, it faces serious social issues that impact us all (you obviously know this).
We all worry about violence, poverty, drugs, homelessness and other challenges. I wanted to talk to real Chicago kids to hear what they think about those challenges so I reached out to 12 smart kiddos from all over the Chicago area and I asked them what they thought. And boy, did they have things to share!
The bottom line: Our kids are very aware of the problems in our community. In fact, many of them are directly impacted by these concerns every day. The good news is that the next generation of Chicagoans is thinking about ways to make Chicago a better place for all.
You can read the full story in the June issue of Chicago Parent magazine. I encourage you to take a minute to listen to what our kids have to say about this very serious situation (cause they aren't missing a thing).
