Last fall, my husband and I took a quick trip to Paris for our tenth wedding anniversary. One of my favorite parts of the trip was strolling through the open air markets and checking out the wares. The closest that you are going to come to that experience in Chicago is The Lycée Français de Chicago’s 8th Annual French Fall Market.
This market will allow Chicagoans the chance to experience the tastes, sounds, art, and antiques of a traditional French marketplace. The event will include more than 50 high-end Chicago vendors, culinary demonstrations from top Chicago chefs, a French Bistro and Children's Pavilion (parents can shop 'til they drop while kids age 3 and up will participate in supervised activities.)
Attendees will have the opportunity to check out nearly 100 vendors selling the best of French merchandise and cuisine. The event is a unique opportunity to shop for the finest French wares, one-of-a-kind home décor items, art & antiques, local artisans’ jewelry, clothing, and more. Check out all of the details below:
- Friday, November 2nd (7 PM - 10 PM) - The fest kicks off with a Venetian-themed adults only cocktail party preview. $50 tickets at the door, $40 in advance.
- Saturday November 3rd (10 AM - 5 PM) & Sunday November 4th (11 AM - 4 PM) - Annual Fall French Market. $5 for adults, free to children.
Last year’s market attracted more than 3,000 visitors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lycée Français de Chicago in its missions to provide dual language education focused on academics. Additional information can be found at lyceefallfrenchmarket.com.
