I am lucky to live in Wicker Park, one of the best shopping neighborhoods in the city. Of course, I don't really have a ton of time to browse boutiques and I usually have three kids (and six grubby, curious hands) with me so we don't tend to do a lot of shopping together in the 'ol neighborhood.
BUT from time to time I need a new baby present or a gift for a kiddo's birthday party and I have fantastic local options. I used to frequent Grow Modern Kids for eco-conscious baby gifts and gear (until it shuttered last fall). Happily, Sprout San Francisco is going to be opening its doors on April 21 in the same space at 1943 W. Division.Sprout San Francisco was created to address a growing threat families face from toxins in the environment and the store team stays up on the latest health and environmental research (so parents don’t have to).
Sprout will carry unique organic and natural brands such as Apple Park organic plush, Kalon furniture, and Original Sprout shampoos and lotions. In addition to gear, the store also offers a baby registry, nursery design service, a nursing corner, a series of educational speakers, and a playroom for birthday parties and classes.
The grand opening is scheduled for April 21. Sprout will open its doors at 10 am for a celebration featuring children's entertainers Mr. Singer, Little Miss Ann, Mary Macaroni (some of my faves!) The first 50 people to attend and make a purchase will get a great goodie bag. Stop by and check it out.
