93.9 FM (aka "The Lite") has already started with the holiday music. Local retailers have begun their excessive decorating. I've starting dreaming about peppermint bark. Ready or not . . . here come the holidays.
I am sure that your calendar is filling up with holiday events and activities, but I wanted to mention a few upcoming opportunities that I think you'll be interested in:
- Neighborhood Toy Store Day! On Saturday, November 12th from 8:30 AM – 10:00 a.m., parents can snag every item on their kids’ wish list with a 15% in-store discount at Building Blocks in Wicker Park! While you’re stowing away the goodies, the kiddos can enjoy live music and munchies. In addition, two local organizations will be on-site collecting new and gently-used books and clothes (time to clean out the closets and playroom!). This is an amazing chance to get a jump on your holiday shopping -- all while helping some worthy causes. RSVP today to reserve your spot. If you can't make this early morning option, check out the rest of the schedule for the day here -- and don't miss a free performance by Mr. Singer from 1:15 until 2:00, presented by Bump Club and Beyond.
- NPN Pre-Holiday Pop-Up Mixer sponsored by the NPN Moms in Business Group. On November 18th, you are invited to attend a unique FREE event, all while benefiting Bundle of Joy Diaper Bank. Let NPN Moms in Business (MIB) show you a great time while you cross holiday shopping off your to-do list. Ten amazing businesses will feature an awesome assortment of unique & fun gifts! Come on out and join the fun at Flirty Girl Fitness (1325 West Randolph) from 7:00 until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18th. Admission is FREE for general entry and $25 for VIP Access (VIPS go home with an amazing goody bag packed with great items). You can RSVP here.
- Families in the Loop Wonderland If you are looking for some rockin' holiday family fun, check out the popular 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Local performers will have parents and tots on their feet, jamming to masterful music from all around the world. This event also includes yummy eats and plenty of goodies to take home with you. RSVP here: http://fitlwonderland.eventbrite.com/
I'll be back next week with some more recommendations for family holiday "must do's" but I'd love to hear from you. What is on your holiday list this year?
