Circus in the Parks -- A Must-Do for Chicago Families

Circus in the Parks -- A Must-Do for Chicago Families

Last summer, I brought my gang out to Welles Park for a truly spectacular experience -- Circus in the Parks, courtesy of the Midnight Circus. This two-hour show was one of the most entertaining family outings we've ever had. It included clowns, acrobatics, and contortionists. My kids were totally mesmerized. So was I. It was a genuinely enjoyable experience for kids and their mamas and papas (not an east feat).

This year, the Midnight Circus team is back to bring you a one-of-a-kind family-friendly circus experience. Money raised will go to support the Chicago Park District. {How great is that?}

This year is an all new show under an all new little Big Top. Circus in the Parks is taking place at a different park each weekend through October 22-23rd. You can catch it this weekend at Holstein Park in Bucktown. Each park has 4 performances: Saturdays at 2 & 5 pm and Sundays at 1 & 4 pm. Visit the website for all of the details and to purchase tickets (highly recommend that you do!).

  • We went last year to Portage Park and were mesmerized. Went this year to Welles Park and loved it, too, but I missed the open sky. Something about the sun setting and this joyous performance was a perfect combination. Folks should run and buy tickets.
