Look Out Chicago Here I Come: A Review

Look Out Chicago Here I Come: A Review

I love all things Chicago. And I am working hard to instill the same type of hometown pride in my little ones. I want them to experience all that our city has to offer families. A new DVD called Look Out Chicago Here I Come! is a great way to show your kids just how fabulous their hometown is.

Look Out Chicago is part of a series called Look Out World Here I Come! that aims to teach kids about the sites and attractions in various cities worldwide through the eyes of the main character Otto. Little Otto travels the world with his teddy bear "Blink" and suitcase “Casey,” exploring each city from a kid’s perspective.

The DVD features familiar Chicago destinations, including the Shedd Aquarium,  Willis Tower and Navy Pier . I also really appreciated the authentic Chicago sites and sounds (like the “L” train).  I also appreciated that Otto visited a local park (because your kids would want to do the same thing if they were checking out a new city).

Each DVD includes an activity guide with games and craft project suggestions that build off on the material from the show (i.e. “spot 6 differences between these Chicago skyscrapers”).

My kids really enjoyed Look Out Chicago. They loved the fact that they were able to recognize the Chicago destinations that Otto was visiting. I bet that your little Chicagoans would love it too.  Look Out Chicago is available locally at PsychoBaby in Bucktown. Wee Windy City readers can take advantage of a special discount when ordering from the website by using the code: WEEWINDY15.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the DVD for purposes of this review.
