Introduce your baby to Dot & Ziggy

When I was invited to experience "theatre for babies and toddlers," I was skeptical. Seriously skeptical.

We've had several bad experiences with children's theater in the past (think crying, begging to leave, running out of the theater). So it was hard for me to believe that theater for babies and toddlers could possibly be a good idea.

But it is. It is actually a really, really good idea.

Last Friday, Colin was invited to see a performance of Dot & Ziggy. We both absolutely loved the show. Chicago Children's Theatre is reaching out to a new demographic -- babies and toddlers. This highly interactive and entertaining (but also laid-back) show delivers on its promise to keep little ones (and their parents or caregivers) entertained.
Dot & Ziggy is the story of a ladybug and a skunk who explore their
differences and similarities -- in very appropriate, toddler-like ways
(think meltdowns over sharing, emotional outbursts, etc.). The
atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The performers clearly "get" kids
and how to interact with them. And the live music component is a real
bonus.

I enthusiastically recommend this live theater experience -- for babies, toddlers, and even older kids.

Dot & Ziggy will be at the Victory Gardens Biograph
Theater (2433 N. LIncoln Ave.) through June 26th. Performance times are:
10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. and noon on
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $16 weekdays and $18 weekends.
But I do have a discount code to share with you. Enter the code: MOMDZ
for $2 off each ticket.

Disclosure: We were provided with two complimentary tickets to check out this show.
