Although I don't make it to class as often as I would like to, I love, love, love my yoga studio. For over two years now, I've been attending classes at Vessel Yoga. What keeps me coming back? My teacher Margo Kellison. Margo is a fabulous instructor and a kind person. Her students adore her spiritual and individualized approach to teaching vinyasa flow yoga.
Margo is also a mom! Her little guy is nearly sixteen months-old. With her new-found appreciation for how hard it can be for busy moms to make time for yoga, Margo is re-introducing a Mommy and Me Yoga Class Series at Vessel (as a busy mom with little or no time for yoga, I am so excited about this).
Beginning April 19th, moms and their babes can participate in an 8-week series of Mommy and Me classes on Tuesday mornings (April 19th through May 31st).
The class offerings are divided into two groups:
- 9:15 until 10:00: 2 Months-old to Crawlers
- 10:15 until 11:00: Walkers/Toddlers to 3 years-old (consider this a flexible age range)
These classes are designed to be flexible and super kid-friendly. Each class session features animal yoga poses and songs to keep all attendees entertained. In lieu of savasana, you can enjoy a short story with your little yoga partner.
Sounds good, right? Best case scenario is that you get some yoga in while hanging out with other Chicago mamas and kiddos. Worse case scenario is that you have a fun morning outing with your little one (but spend more time changing diapers or nursing than sweating). Either way, not a bad way to spend a Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, April 19th, Margo is offering Wee Windy City readers the chance to try out either class FOR FREE. That's right. Free. Space is limited so you must call (312) 243-5292 to reserve your spot.
After the free demo class, you can purchase the remaining 7 weeks in the session for $75 or drop-in for $15 per class. Vessel is located at 12 North May Street (inside the Kaya Spa space) in the West Loop and free parking is available in the adjacent lot.
I can't wait to hit my mat with my two little yogis (age 2 and 4) next Tuesday. See you there?
