As a major snow event approaches our fair city, I've noticed that Chicago parents seem to fall into two camps. On the one hand, there are those parents who say "let it snow! let it snow! let it snow!" and embrace the high probability that their school-aged kids will be home from school on Wednesday (even CPS, maybe?).
And then there are those parents who seem to be dreading the interruption to their weekly schedule and the thought of entertaining their home-bound kids all day on Wednesday.
Before you jump all over me, I of course recognize that snow days post all sorts of scheduling problems for families -- particularly for parents who work full-time. But today, I've heard tons of grumblings from parents who don't seem to have any work conflicts -- they just seem to be dreading the idea of being snowed in with the whole gang at home.
So now I am curious -- what are parents out there thinking about the snow day likely headed our way? Are you looking forward to Wednesday? Are you dreading being snowed in with the rambunctious little people in your life? Are you scrambling to find last minute childcare? Or are you planning on playing hookie yourself?
Tell me Chicago parents -- what are you thinking about the upcoming snow day? Love it or loathe it?
