Can you believe that I am talking about back-to-school shopping on a this beautiful and balmy July day? Summer is still in full swing but I bet that you are starting to receive correspondence from your child's school about the upcoming year too, right?
It is time to start thinking about heading back to school (and all of the back-to-school stuff that comes with it). As I was making a list of the school supplies that my kids need, I also started thinking about larger need for school supplies for Chicago-area kids.
All kids need to start the school year off on the right foot and having the necessary supplies is key (you still remember the thrill of a brand new backpack too, don't you?).
I've done a little research into some local organizations that are
holding school supply drives. So when you are making a Target run to
stock up on brand new sharp pencils and pristine pencil cases for your
child, consider picking up some extra supplies for a needy student who
would love to have the same sorts of supplies (and a nice new backpack) )
on the first day of school.
