Why You Shouldn't Care that Your House is a Mess: My Mother's Day Message

The three little people who call me Mama.

Sorry that things have been quiet around here this week. I have two sick kids at home. You know that that goes.

I thought that I should get my Mother's Day post up while I can because I might not have another chance before Sunday (with all of the temperature-taking and night-waking that I have planned between now and then).

So Happy (early) Mother's Day to all of you Chicago mamas. I am guessing that most of you have the same Mother's Day wish that I do -- just a big hug and thank you from daddy and the kiddos. And maybe a homemade macaroni necklace.

In honor of Mother's Day, I wrote a post for the site Sprout for Parents about how most moms (myself included) spend too much time feeling bad about all of the things on their to-do lists that don't get done and not enough time feeling proud about all of the good stuff that is getting done (like raising healthy, happy kids). I hope you will take a minute to check out my post and then give yourself a big pat on the back for the great job that you do every day, mama.
