I am kind of a disaster as a housewife. My kids get fed and I am no stranger to my vacuum but things are still always a mess. The toy situation is totally out of control. I would do anything to have my own personal laundress to help me get a handle on the piles of washed-and-dried-but-not-folded-and-put-away laundry. And crushed goldfish crackers linger in nearly every room of my house.
Same situation for my garage, my car, and unfortunately, also my blogs.
I update regularly but I never seem to get to the housekeeping tasks -- like updating blogrolls, cleaning up the tags, etc.
So in typical Caitlin fashion, here are a few things that I have been meaning to mention for about two months now:
- Subscribe to the Wee Windy City Feed. Did you know that you can subscribe to the Wee Windy City feed and each new post will be delivered to your inbox? For example, this week I am going to be posting a review of the new Chicago Children's Theatre production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favorites, information on the upcoming Chicago Humanities Festival and a few things that every family can do to celebrate Earth Day. If you subscribe to the feed, then this information will come right to you. Look at the bottom of this post on the right-hand side and you will see a box where you can enter your email address. Go ahead and do that. Then you will receive a confirmation email. Click on the link to confirm that you want to subscribe and you are all set (you can also unsubscribe at any time if you find that the feed just isn't your thing.).
- Updating my Blogroll. Know of a great Chicago-area parenting blog that isn't listed on my blogroll? Email me with the name and url so I can add it to my list. Later today I am attending a party at the Hard Rock Hotel hosted by the SVMoms and Chevy (pretty swanky stuff for this mama). The guest list includes lots of bloggers who are new to the Chicago Moms Blog and I am going to be adding their personal blogs to my blogroll this week. If you know of other great blogs (including your own), let me know and I will add it to my list.
- What kind of posts do you want to see on Wee Windy City? I love getting emails from readers (so keep 'em coming). One reader recently reached out to request that I post about good spots for weekend getaways with kids in the Chicago area. Great idea, right? So I am working on a post about that subject. If there are other topics or events that you would like to read about on Wee Windy City, I would love to hear from you. If you have a great idea for a guest post that you should write, I'd love to hear your idea. Email me and we can chat about it.
Enough housekeeping. I'm off to see my mommy blogger buddies at the Hard Rock Hotel.
