Looking for something fun for the whole family to do this weekend? I've got an idea or two for you.
Family Farmed Expo. This is an event that has a little bit for everyone in the family. The Family Farmed Expo takes places from March 11-13 at the UIC Forum.
I've attended this event in the past with my kids. I found it to be a great resource for Chicago families who want to seek out better food options. Basically, any one in Chicago who cares about healthy, sustainable food choices will be there.
Families with little ones will want to stop by the Kid's Corner on Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. where Purple Asparagus will be hosting games, arts and crafts, etc.. Kids age 12 and under are free with a paid adult admission.
Open House at Lillstreet Art Center. Artists of all ages can check out the offerings at the Lill Street Art Center's Spring Open House on Saturday, March 13th from noon until 5:00 p.m. During the open house, Lillstreet will offer free, hands-on workshops for both adults and kids. Visitors are invited to tour the facility and visit the artist studios while enjoying live music and complimentary pie.
Northside Parents Network (NPN) Free Family Fun Day at Chitown Futbol. On Saturday, March 13th from 9:30 until 12:30, families can take advantage of this great event in celebration of NPN's 30th anniversary. Both members and non-members are welcome. Highlights include mini soccer classes with Lil' Kickers, inflatables, eco-crafts courtesy of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, storytelling with the Emerald City Theater Company and more. This sounds like an excellent (and FREE) way to keep your kids busy on a Saturday morning. RSVP here to get your eticket.
Happy (spring?) weekending to you and your little ones.
