The Chicago Park District offers outdoor, FREE, family fun all year round -- yes, even in the dead of winter.
Saturday, December 12th is the first Polar Adventure Day of the season. Bundle up (seriously -- snow pants, scarves, the whole deal) and head out to Northerly Island for family-oriented activities, demonstrations, and crafts. And of course, hot chocolate.
The kids can meet an arctic dog sled team, watch ice sculptures be created before their eyes, and make a winter-themed craft to take home.
The event takes place on Northerly Island from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. Polar Adventure Days are also scheduled for January 23rd and February 20th, 2010.
