Pathways Foundation: Celebrating 25 years of helping Chicago families

One of the many advantages of raising a family in the Chicago area is the ability to access the best resources for our kids. We are fortunate to have many world-class institutions and organizations that support children and families right here in our city.

As a parent, I hope that my children will always be perfectly healthy and well. As a realist, I also know that at some point, I (and probably you too) will likely be looking for help from one of these resources. It is good to know that they are right here in Chicago.

One such organization called Pathways Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Pathways is committed to early detection and intervention for children with motor delays. Their website contains a wealth of information about developmental milestones for infants and what steps to take if you suspect that your child has delays (this is a good read for any parent of an infant).

Over the weekend, fellow ChicagoNow blogger David Wallach of The Pace of Chicago shared with me his personal experience with Pathways. He and his wife feel passionately about Pathways because of this organization's role in helping his son recover from a serious birth injury.

On November 16th, 2009, Pathways is celebrating their 25th anniversary with an event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago. The theme of this event is the importance of "tummy time" for babies.

If you would like to attend this event, otherwise support Pathways, or learn more about important developmental milestones for babies, visit the Pathways website.
