You won't often hear me suggest that you plop your kids down in front of the television. I generally think that there are too many fun things you could be doing instead of wasting time watching television -- especially cartoons.
However, I am going to make an exception for all of the vintage holiday cartoons that I think are must-sees -- for you and your kids. Plus, the kids are going to be on break from school for a looong time. A little television show here and there probably won't hurt, right?
Here are a few of my favorite holiday cartoons and the times that they are scheduled to run during the month of December. I would DVR a few of these shows in case you need to entertain some restless elves.

Mickey's Christmas Carol

San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker (not a cartoon, but definitely worth watching -- particularly for aspiring ballerinas)
December 21st (9:00 pm)
WTTW- Channel 11
What am I missing? What other family holiday shows will you be watching this year? And what about all of the great holiday movies? I'll have to make a separate list for that.
