The Wee Weekender for September 18-20

Looks like it is going to be a beautiful fall weekend -- spend it outside if you can. If you are looking for something to do, check out one of these events.

9th Annual County Fair at Garfield Park Conservatory.
This is a chance to experience a county fair atmosphere right in the city. Highlights include a farmer's market, hands-on kid's activities and beekeeping and composting demonstrations. The event takes place on Saturday, September 19 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. If you participated in the One Seed Chicago program and grew beans this summer, this is your chance to show off your harvest and recipes.

Apple Fest. If you have apple-lovers at your house, plan to make a stop at the Apple Fest in Lincoln Square on Saturday, September 19. Mmmmm. Apples pies. Apple cider. Doesn't get much more fall than this.

Circus in the Parks. Enjoy the high-flying antics of the Chicago Midnight Circus in a relaxed park setting. This event takes place at Welles Park this weekend and Chase Park next weekend. The website promises acrobats, clowns and contortionists. Tickets are $15 each.

Happy weekending Chicago.
