Getting In Shape for Your Big Day!

The wedding day is one of the most important days in your life, so naturally you want to look and feel your best. The joy that comes along with finding the love of your life is something that cannot be described. Exercising is one of the most important things you can do to look great on your big day, and regular exercise helps a you maintain a healthy body weight as well as give you the stamina that is needed for the wedding night filled with dancing!

So what can you do to shape up before the big day? Try some of these simple exercises with your friends while you talk about the ever-changing wedding plans and in no time you will be looking and feeling great!

Walking

Walking is a great way to stay in shape and build your stamina. Try walking around your neighborhood after dinner to burn some extra calories. Walking for 20-30 minutes a day can help to shed some of your calorie intake and is a great and easy way to socialize with friends and family in the process.

Cycling

Cycling is great for toning the muscles of the lower body, and is also a great cardio workout. The best part about cycling is the low-impact on the bones and joints. This will allow you continue exercise and the day-to-day running around without feeling too sore. A casual ride around town can burn some calories and tone your muscles, but you can increase the intensity of your workout by adding some resistance by riding up some hills!

Home Gym Equipment

On those rainy days, or when you just feel like watching TV and still getting a great workout, home gym equipment such as treadmills and ellipticals can prove to be very beneficial. Some people love working out at home since it’s convenient and easy. Ellipticals, much like cycling, are great on the bones and joints.

Dancing

Now here is something that will really get the blood pumping and hips moving! Dancing is a wonderful exercise as well as a fun one. Dancing provides an excellent cardio workout, as well as helping you perfect your moves for the dance floor on the big night!

Exercising will not only prepare people for their wedding day, but it will also prepare them to live a long, healthy life with their spouse. Walking, jogging, dancing, cycling and using home gym equipment are just a few of the many ways that people can get in shape for their big day. Get creative with your workout and involve others. The buzz before the wedding is exciting and fun, but make sure you are remaining active and healthy!

  • I started going to the gym at least 6 months before the big day. I think it's always best to start as early as possible. I got married on a dance cruise, so even managed to loose weight during my wedding/honeymoon!
