First, I have one word to say about Hawk Harrelson promising never to return to Wrigley Field.
YES! (probably the 1,000,000th Cub fan to crack that joke.) And I say this as a Harrelson myself (my father's mother's maiden name).
Is it White Sox corporate policy to bad mouth Wrigley Field? Ozzie Guillen did it in 2008 prior to a Cubs/Sox series. But Ozzie's comments seemed to be in fun, if insulting fun. Harrelson's? Petty and unprofessional, in my opinion. Did he think he was hurting our feelings? But, really ... thank goodness! This means that we won't be forced to listen to him during Cubs/Sox games at Wrigley Field EVER AGAIN. YES! But I repeat myself. On to more good news ...
I will be signing copies of my new novel CALLED OUT at 2 events.
August 26 party at Goldyburgers Restaurant and Bar, 7316 Circle, Forest Park. All are welcome! Stop by and say hi, even if you don't want the book! 7pm until ...
Split Lit Book Fair, August 27, 12:00 noon. Berwyn Eagles Club, 6309 W. 26th Street (east of Ridgeland).
If you can't stop by either event but would like a signed copy, Centuries and Sleuths bookstore on Madison in Forest Park has signed copies.
Or order from the Book Cellar in Lincoln Square, Chicago. They'll ship you a signed copy! Only $15.95, plus shipping. On the checkout page scroll to the message window and request a signed copy, and even specify a custom dedication. The Book Cellar is near me and I've been known to dash over there to sign and dedicate books. Click here.
Or stop by the Book Cellar, 4736 N. Lincoln, Chicago, and buy a copy in person. While you're there, enjoy a glass of wine, or a sandwich.
And finally, I'm scheduled to appear at an author event at the Book Cellar the evening of Wednesday, September 20.
Hope to see you soon, maybe even at the ballpark if I can earn enough book royalties to afford a ticket!
